"Seeking Freedom"

This is of an adult Kodiak bear in Spring time. The sculpture is on a 4'X8' base, 8 1/2 ' tall and weighs over a ton. Each sliver of steel is individually sheared, welded into place and shaped to resemble the fur of a bear in motion. The trap was also handmade and was functional until welded into place and damage deliberately. From design to completion of Seeking Freedom took nearly 18 months.
